Seniors

The older we get, the more important it is for us to stay active!

Unfortunately, that also becomes harder with age. Muscle and joint pains can lead us to being less physically active, which makes us more prone to injury and the aging process. Revolution would like to offer a solution to that problem (check schedule page for days and times)

- our revolutionized indoor cycling classes for seniors

- seniors fit camp

- one on one personal training.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to stop the aging process but don’t let that convince you that your days of activity are past. Come and enjoy a safe and exhilarating workout experience at Revolution! We offer 10% off for seniors (60 and over).

Regular exercise provides countless health benefits for senior adults:

At Revolution we recognize that cycling is much easier on the joints than many other cardio options. Any sport that requires running, for instance, will expose your body to a great deal of shock impact. Stationary bikes are so joint-friendly that they are regularly used in knee and hip rehab programs. They allow you to train your muscles against various resistance levels without compromising joint stability. This is especially important for an aging body. The ability to choose your own resistance also makes Revolution an ideal fitness class for seniors. Each bike comes with its own resistance knob and this allows the rider to raise or lower the workout intensity according to his or her own physical ability and fitness goals.

Our seinors fitness camps are 10 week programs (twice a week - 20 classes) that is specifically tailored to meet the fitness goals of our aging population, with careful attention paid to special conditions. With the senior client in mind, Revolution's Seniors Fit Camp focuses on functional training, recreating movement patterns that most closely approximate the movement patterns we use in our daily activities, increasing functional independence, and improving quality of life. You will improve balance, strength, posture, and reaction time at Revolution's Fit Camp.

Benefits of regular fitness include:

  • a stronger heart;
  • a positive mental outlook;
  • improvements in balance;
  • helps prevent heart disease, stroke, osteoporosis, type 2 diabetes, some cancers and premature death;
  • and an increased chance of remaining indefinitely independent

The Public Health Agency of Canada recommends that older adults (65+) take part in 2.5 hours of moderate to intense aerobic activity each week. Moderate-intensity aerobic exercise means working hard but still able to carry on a conversation during exercise. This could be 30 minutes a day, five days a week.

Senior cycling, Fit Camp, and working with a personl trainer has no specific upper age limit.
